God’s Living Word – Ephesians 4:11-13, NKJV

Unity in the Body of Christ

11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,

12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,

13 till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.

Unity in Teams

No one wants to feel like a square peg that’s been jammed into a round hole. Just as the Apostle Paul urged the members of the Ephesian church to capitalize on their strengths in the interest of unity, the most effective leaders take the time to discover and encourage the strengths of each individual team member. A leader who doesn’t let his or her team members play to their strengths will end up with a weak team.

Food for Thought

King Solomon urged his readers to cultivate those skills necessary to achieve success in life. According to Charles C. Manz and Henry P. Sims, Jr., “Super Leaders” do the same. Read Proverbs 4:1-9 for insight into what attributes Solomon considered to be essential. (Notes from The Leadership Bible, NIV © 1998)

May God’s Living Word touch your heart in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen!
