Trust Him
God's Living Word - Psalm 139:13-16, NLT
“You knit me together in my mother's womb … Your workmanship is marvelous … You watched me as I was formed ... in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed”.
It’s true. We are not proud of some of our thoughts. Do you remember thinking, “I sure wish I could be like my friend who has everything going for herself. She has a good job, a fiancée and a lot of friends and family support.” Day after day we often find ourselves wanting to be just like our friends. We even want to own their possessions and have all their advantages. Scripture says, … “that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind” (Eccl. 4:4, NLT).
The adversary constantly and regularly uses envy against us during our times of weakness. So we have to be careful and stay focused on our relationship with God knowing that He is always with us in everything that we do.
The Good News is we don't have to envy anybody. We just need to become all that God meant for us to be and focus on making Him number one in our lives.
News Flash! God made us unique and He has a plan for us in His purpose. If we get out of the way and let God work in us and through us, then we realize that it doesn’t matter what anyone else has or what station they have achieved in life. Competition becomes irrelevant because we have the Creator of the universe running point for us. The Bible says, “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Rom. 8:31, NKJV).
Focus on your relationship with God, open your heart to receive His Love, and let Holy Spirit lead you to victory in His name. God always loves you. Trust Him!
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, I am thankful for my relationship with You, because my trust in You keeps me from envying my friends and neighbors. I praise You in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
