God’s Living Word – Isaiah 40:28-31, NIV

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

Life Lessons
40:29 – He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Paul said, “For Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness…For when I am weak, then I am strong”(2 Co 12:10). We only become truly strong when we depend on God’s strength. “The weakness of God is stronger than human strength” (1 Co 1:25).

40:31 – Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. God renews and strengthens those who are weak. He is the One who lifts, revitalizes and empowers us to persevere when everything inside us tells us we cannot go a step further. When we surrender our problems to him, we gain his ability and power to run as far as he wants us to go.

May God’s Living Word touch your heart and in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord! Amen!
