Change Your Thoughts
God’s Living Word - Romans 12:2, ESV
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”
As believers in our Lord Jesus Christ it is important to change the way we think about all things and ask God to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
Sometimes we find ourselves thinking negative thoughts about people, places and things, in general, because of superficial values and customs. As Christians, our focus should be on Godly values and ethical attitudes with positive thoughts about all God’s children. Scripture says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…” (Proverbs 23:7)
As we mature in faith, we come to realize that our lives move in the direction of our most dominant thoughts. If we are constantly thinking that things will never improve or that we are destined to fail, then we are headed towards failure.
However, if we choose to believe that there is victory and success ahead and that God has good things for us in our future; then that will happen. The Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4:13) Remember, God answers our prayers in His time and in His way. Don’t try to second-guess God. Scripture says, “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” (Isaiah 55:9).
Our focus should be on the Word of God seeking a deeper love relationship with Him. We should pray that our daily thoughts be positive and Godly to everyone asking that our attitudes be pure and actions true in the name of Jesus.
The Bible says, “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8)
Trusting God will enable the Holy Spirit to transform your mind and thoughts through the blood of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and your life will be filled with an abundance of His Spirit.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, I humble myself to You in all that I am. I know that all things are possible through You. Father, I ask that You renew my mind and body to carry Your thoughts in the spirit of love. I am Your child and I will love you and honor Your name all of the days of my life. I ask for abundance in all things so that I may be a blessing to others in the name of Jesus Christ! Amen!
